On 9 January 2026 XLIX the First Couple traveled again to Mexico, a repeat of the events of December 2024 XLVII. The purpose was again to visit a reggae music festival held in Riviera Maya. While much of the duration of their sojourn was spent enjoying the music, they also participated in a humanitarian project through Positive Legacy, a charitable group that combines music and service to make a difference. The project during this trip was painting and refurbishing a local Mexican vocational secondary school. For several hours on Monday, 12 January, the President and First Lady painted and helped clean the school, along with a large group of volunteers. After painting literally the entire school, the event was concluded with local food and music, making it a worthwhile endeavor indeed. It is noted that the area Quintana Roo State lies on the extreme eastern edge of Mexico, a scant 217 Imperial Nortons (135 miles) from Cuba, the location of the last bastion of East Germany, Ernst Thälmann Island. During the First Couple's visit, several marine iguanas were seen basking on costal rocks, seemingly innocent, although they were certainly East German spies seeking intel on the First Couple's activities. In spite of this subterfuge the overall event was a great success and The President and First Lady returned to Molossia a few days later, having accomplished mighty things - and having had fun doing it!
