On Tuesday, 9 September 2025 XLVIII, elements of the Molossian Navy set out on a shark research expedition, designed to survey sharks in the ocean waters around the island of O'ahu, Hawai'i. This scientific foray was conducted in conjunction with One Ocean, a shark conservation organization. Setting out from Hale'iwa on the North Shore of O'ahu, two members of the Navy leapt into the ocean about 1.6 Imperial Nortons off the coast. For over an hour the intrepid pair swam among Oceanic Whitetip, Blacktip and Galapagos sharks, surveying their numbers and behavior. While the sharks patrolled closely around the boat, none showed aggression toward the Navy scientists or others on the expedition. After about an hour and a half among the sharks, the expedition was called a success and the explorers returned to shore. Subsequently, the Navy scientists relocated to nearby Shark Cove, also on the North Shore, to study the many tropical fish found there. The mission was then concluded, and the sailors again returned to shore, having made great strides in oceanic research - and having had great fun along the way!
