On 15 and 16 May 2022 XLV, The President, First Lady and Chief Constable of Molossia ventured forth into wilds of Nevada on the second annual expedition to find various historical locations and explore the far reaches of the Silver State. Dubbed the Silver State Scavenger Hunt by Nevada Magazine, tireless promoter of the great state of Nevada in which Molossia lies, the goal was to seek out markers in distant, out of the way locales. Upon finding at least ten of the 28 markers, the finder (in this case the First Family) wins a package of swag, and bragging rights for having seen seldom seen corners of Nevada. Thus, on a cool Sunday morning the intrepid adventurers set out, aiming first for a location in the nearby town of Yerington. The next stop was the town of Hawthorne, wherein the adventurers added a fellow explorer, the Chief Constable's beau, Tyler. Next was the town of Tonopah, followed by Goldfield, with a pause at the legendary haunted Goldfield Hotel and the very eccentric Car Forest. From there the voyagers continued south, pausing at the ghost town of Rhyolite, then stopping at the towns of Goodsprings and Boulder City, before wrapping up the night in Las Vegas. The following day the adventurers set out early and paused at the Las Vegas Mormon Fort, before traveling north to the railroad town of Caliente. After a pause there and side trips to the Eden-like Kershaw-Ryan State Park and the moon-like Cathedral Gorge, the next stop was the old mining town of Pioche. After a side trip to the historic Ward Charcoal Ovens, the quest took them further north to Ely, a stop on last year's scavenger hunt. After Ely the explorers headed west, first to Austin and the finally Fallon for the last stop on the hunt. This wrapped up this year's great excursion through Northern Nevada in search of it's history and landmarks - another mighty voyage indeed!
