On Sunday, 7 July 2019 XLI the Mighty Molossian Navy set out to explore the waters nearby Washoe Lake, about 50 Imperial Nortons (31 mi/50 km) northwest of the Molossian Home Territory. The target was the Scripps Wildlife Management Area, a nature preserve and marsh that lies between Washoe Lake and the neighboring Little Washoe Lake. The goal of the Navy was to observe the wildlife there and also to seek a complete water connection between the two lakes. Arriving at the marsh at about 5:00 PM MST the Navy immediately set sail on the large lagoon in the middle of the wildlife area, dubbed Scripps Lagoon. For over an hour the fleet explored the edges of the lagoon, seeking the wildlife for which the area is known. Regrettably, observances were limited to a few ducks and seagulls and a large, mysterious fish, rooting in the mud at the edge of the marsh. After voyaging south for a while, the fleet turned back north, to seek a water passage to Little Washoe Lake. After a search, a narrow, willow-lined channel was discovered which eventually opened out into Little Washoe. This discovery was a great achievement for the flotilla, and having solved the mystery of the water connection the Naval mission was declared complete and the boats headed to shore. The fleet then returned to Molossia, another successful foray for the Mighty Molossian Navy.
