NEW TELEPHONE SYSTEM

Khamsin Molossia News

The Government of the Republic of Molossia is proud to unveil our latest technological achievement - our new telephone system. Consisting of two self-powered crank phones (Swedish Army Surplus) linked by an underground telephone line, this phone system connects the Molossia Post Office to the Customs Station, a distance of 74 Nortons (43 ft / 13 m). Phone "booths" have been set up at both locations, and phone numbers established for each; VUldstein 5-1991 for the Post Office phone and PArador 9-1986 for the Customs Station phone. Future plans include adding a phone station in Norton Park and perhaps later in Government House. This latter phone will enable visitors to call Government House upon their arrival in our country. At this point the Molossia telephone system does not connect outside our nation, although we would certainly like the opportunity to do so in the future.

This is a major landmark in the progression of Molossia. While the world is moving away from land-line telephones, Molossia is still a developing country, and this seemingly minor accomplishment is an important step for us. This is a marked improvement over our telegraph system, established three years ago. As our phone system expands, so does communication throughout Molossia, which in turn makes life in our nation that much better.

We are quite proud of this triumph of Molossian technology and this important stage in our nation's development.
