ASSEMBLY MEETING OF 1 APRIL 2013 XXXVI

The Molossian National Assembly convened on 1 April 2013 XXXVI, in the office of the President of the Republic. This was the second Assembly meeting of 2013 XXXV, in accordance with The President's directive that assembly meetings will only be held quarterly. In attendance were the resident citizens of Molossia; email contributions were solicited from non-resident citizens, with a single response, noted below. As the Assembly is a purely advisory body, no legislative actions took place. The President began the session by briefing the assembled citizens of the current state of the nation. Thereafter followed a session of old business and new business. The President took several matters into consideration, and adjourned the Assembly until the next quarterly meeting, at the beginning of July 2013 XXXVI.

State of the Nation:

Molossia's website averages for the first three months of 2013 XXXVI were 13, 332 hits per day. Our Facebook group has 2051 members. We have 962 Twitter followers.

Old business:

We began making and selling Supremo Soap in February, our first real manufactured product. Many bars have been sold us far, making it a successful product. A proposed winter survival expedition in January did not take place. Building projects continued throughout the past three months, culminating in the completion of the new Bank of Molossia building. The proposed reality TV series, for which Tom and Harriet visited from London in September, fell through and will likely not take place. Mike Martelle of Ontario, Canada, Molossia's appointed Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion of Molossia and Vesperia, competed in February, placing fourth. A suggestion box was placed in Government House for the promotion of future Molossian activities. A newsletter was inaugurated at the beginning of March and will be published monthly, with the previous month's news and other articles about Molossia. Included are a section authored by the First Lady and games such as a word-find and find-the-difference.

New business:

The First Lady will be creating and selling her own line of soap soon. We will be having a possible tourist visit in late April, with more planned in May, including Prince Arthur and Princess Zena-Antoinette of the House of Homestead, Commodore Jonathan and Katie Miller, and the Jarl of Lykosha around Founder's Day. Founder's Day is just around the corner and we will including an art show of Molossian art, and the singing of our National Anthem, along with the usual activities, a BBQ, tours of the nation and The President's Founder's Day Speech. A proposal by First Grandma Penny Baugh mirrors an interest of His Excellency, The President to create a National Language. His Excellency wishes Molossia to have its own creole language and this will be developed over time.

There were several new proposals. The First Lady proposed a kids corner for the newsletter. A camping expedition is proposed for the future, during warmer weather. Molossia will have its own Classified ads, for jobs around our nation. Geocaching Day is April 27th and will be enjoyed to the utmost by Molossians. A National Reading Day has been proposed and will be planned.

ASSEMBLY MEETING OF 11 JULY 2013 XXXVI

The Molossian National Assembly convened on 11 July 2013 XXXVI, in the office of the President of the Republic. This was the third Assembly meeting of 2013 XXXVI, in accordance with The President's directive that assembly meetings will only be held quarterly. In attendance were the resident citizens of Molossia; email contributions were solicited from non-resident citizens, without response. As the Assembly is a purely advisory body, no legislative actions took place. The President began the session by briefing the assembled citizens of the current state of the nation. Thereafter followed a session of old business and new business. The President took several matters into consideration, and adjourned the Assembly until the next quarterly meeting, at the beginning of October 2013 XXXVI.

State of the Nation:

Molossia's website averages for the second three months of 2013 were 29,967 hits per day, with two peaks of over 250,000. Our Facebook group has 2352 members. We have 1171 Twitter followers.

Old business:

To recap events of the last quarter, we launched two new vessels for our Navy, the Spindrift and Manatee. Both performed well at Lake Tahoe on our trip there during the visit of Commodore and Mrs. Miller They also performed well during the voyage on Lake Lahontan in June. Molossia hosted two State Visits, the Prince of Venus and the House of Homestead. The latter visit took place during our very successful Founder's Day celebration on 26 May 2013 XXXVI. At that celebration we counted 40 guests, the most we have ever had. In May Molossia was very popular on Reddit, which popularity crashed our website for a weekend. In June our popularity again peaked when we were featured on Yahoo!, after they visited in late May. In June we had two interesting expeditions, one to Lave Beds National Monument with the Molossia Rangers and one to Lake Lahontan with the Naval Infantry. The Lava Beds expedition was a success in spite of car trouble while Lahontan was less so due to foul weather. We also had six sets of tourists, not counting State Visits during th,is quarter. The Newsletter was also promoted during this Assembly session, to help Molossians keep up with events in their nation.

New business:

We have tourist visits planned for this weekend and later on the 29th, as well as a State Visit from Ruritania on Sunday, 14 June. A television crew from Salt Lake City is visiting on the 18th, and talks are again in the works for two possible television shows, one a series of eight episodes and the other a segment of a single show. The Molossian Navy will deploy to Lake Tahoe on 20 June, to explore the waters there. Further down the road is the Dayton Valley Days parade in September and in the planning is a movie of our own, the first in a year, to be filmed at Fort Churchill. Also planned is a Guest House, to allow our visitors to stay overnight in Molossia when they visit. When cooler weather prevails work will begin on our Bottle House, for which well over 1000 bottles have thus far been collected. Suggestions for other projects and activities were minimal and ideas will be developed over the next quarter.
