The Republic of Molossia is pleased to unveil it's latest facility, the Molossia Observatory. The area in which Molossia lies is known for its clear skies and starry nights, and this Observatory is planned to take advantage of that. The Observatory is designed to align with the winter and summer solstices. A magnifying glass is arranged to spotlight the winter solstice's setting sun rays upon a gazing ball in the center of the Observatory. Likewise a magnifying glass is aligned to catch the summer solstice's rising sun rays. In addition, cables are in place that are aligned with the spring and fall equinox's, facing due east and west. The Observatory is set away from buildings and light pollution in both Molossia itself and over the border in the US. It's inauguration was supposed to align with the winter solstice sunset, but inclement weather hampered that. It is expected that observation of the summer solstice will be more successful, next June. In the meantime, the Observatory will serve well to gaze upon the heavens and the wonders out there.
