The Republic of Molossia is pleased to unveil our new Post Office, and to inaugurate it we launched Rocket Mail - on Space Day, of course! The new Post Office replaces our older postal establishment, built in 2009 XXXII as one of the first government office in Molossia. Having served us well for 16 years, the old Post Office was repurposed as the new Customs Office, with a relocation to the western border of our nation and a complete remodel. The new Post Office is more open and airy, featuring floor length windows and wide doors. In addition, the roof of the new Post Office is home to the broadcasting booth of Radio Molossia, our nation's one and only radio station. Of course, the new Post Office is still home to Ralph the Postal Guy, who has served uncomplainingly as Molossia's Postmaster for as long as the Post Office itself. It is certain that our proud, new Post Office will serve our nation well for many years to come!
As mentioned, the grand opening of the new Post Office was celebrated by launching Rocket Mail. Rocket Mail is our unique method of sending airmail, literally through the air in a rocket. Rocket Mail was first launched in 2018 XLI, with great success. The same success happened again on 4 May, as the Rocket Mail rocket was launched from the roof of the new Post Office, a dramatic location indeed. Twice the rocket soared aloft, carrying messages from one side of Molossia to the other. This great achievement proves again the value of sending mail via missile - perhaps other nations may wish to adopt this unique method as well! Hooray for our new Post Office and for Rocket Mail!
