VOLCANO EXPEDITION
5 September 2003 XXVI

Khamsin Molossia News

The Molossian Institute of Volcanology has sallied forth again, to explore the wonders of our earth. This time they have returned to the slopes of Lassen Peak, to investigate areas of the park not visited during the two previous expeditions.

This expedition took the Institute to Subway Cave, a lava tube cave open to the public, then to the Spatter Cone Trail, where they studied four of five types of volcano, including many spatter cones, and finally to Bumpass Hell geothermal area. The trip to Bumpass Hell was a reprise of the 2001 expedition, but under better circumstances. Overall this expedition was a resounding success and the Institute was able to visit several geologic formations they had not previously experienced.

His Excellency, The President, at the entrance to Subway Cave.
